Mission

The mission of the Carbon Management Council is to:

provide credible, unbiased information on carbon management principles and practices to the public;
create opportunities for business leaders, government organizations, policy makers, and researchers to implement sound carbon management solutions to reduce their carbon footprint; and
recognize excellence in carbon management.

Vision

Business choices will be guided by managing carbon emissions. Carbon management solutions will need to be as unique as the organization implementing them. Many carbon management products, analytical tools and management strategies have already been developed, but knowledge about their utility, appropriateness and credibility needs to be more widely shared, and excellence in managing carbon footprints needs to be recognized. Knowledge gaps and technological limitations in carbon management need to be understood to shape research and policy decisions and for risk-management of implementation strategies.

The Carbon Management Council is the place where the diversity of business and technological interests intersect to produce and share useful, objective knowledge and experience that will lead to quicker, lasting solutions and effective carbon-responsible business practices.
